Those who own Pokemon X/Y might have searched for Pokemon on the GTS. Those who don’t own the game, I’m sure this wont spoil the game for you, but it is a feature you’ll learn anyway.
When connected to the internet, you have the ability to find any Pokemon you desire from the main game or friend Safari. Including random Pokemon from Wonder trade. As of the release of Pokemon Bank earlier this year, it is possible to obtain any Pokemon you have collected over the years from different regions. I did the same thing with every new Gen in the series.
One day, I wanted a normal Charmander, Froakie, Bulbasaur, or a simple non-starter. Selecting or typing the name of a Pokemon will lead you to trainers with the Pokemon you’re looking for. In order to get them, you must offer a Pokemon they want. Keep in mind: I was searching for regular Pokemon( in my case, any average Charmander). Problem is… you’ll be seeing things like this a lot:
While it’s only a few pictures, there are plenty more people giving away Charmanders for 1, possibly rare or super rare legandary. Most of the ones you see here aren’t even available except through events or some form of cheat that I’m unfamiliar with. Some event Pokemon, like the Pokemon Bank Celebi, are not even tradable through GTS…. for some reason…
I swear, I was the only only one giving away a Fennekin for a Charmander.
I don’t get it. Why do trainers expect Pokemon like Mew or Darkrai to simply be handed to them by offering any, non-shiny, average, freshly hatched, Pokemon? Worst part is:
I don’t even know when it’s a joke… or if they’re actually serious.
